Construction already learned this lesson. Planning is next.
The Building Safety Act made a dated, evidenced record mandatory after Grenfell, and a whole category of software appeared within three years to serve it. Planning carries the same evidential burden, over a longer period, across more firms, and has produced nothing. The record is being kept either way. The only question is whether it is kept as it happens or reconstructed afterwards.
